The Photography and LIteracy
(PAL) Program (25 images including maps)
A unique visual literacy/language arts curriculum developed
specifically for the multicultural images in the KATW series
- but applicable to all visual arts. Utilizing images of children
from over 20 countries (including China,Cambodia, France, Uganda,
Nicaragua, England and Australia), the PAL questions - and answers
- effortlessly lead students to different cultures, countries
- and core-curriculum subjects. It's not just a curriculum -
it's the world.
We highly recommend this educational package as a precursor
to all KATW educational programs.

"The students were literally
jumping out of their seats to ask and answer questions. Outside
the classroom, students raved about this program. They talked
extensively about it with their parents at home. One parent arranged
to view the program, and another came to my office and thanked
me for his daughters exposure to this experience.
- Donna DeGennaro, PhD, Assistant Professor of
Educational Technology, Montclair University,
implemented the programs at Springside School, Philadelphia
