Charleen and the Crocodiles
Charleen lives in the tropical north of Australia. Aboriginal people have inhabited the land for around 70,000 years, and Charleen’s life is a combination of the modern and the traditional. For instance, Charleen’s grandmother shows her how to collect oysters - after they drive to the beach in a brand-new 4-wheel drive jeep. When Charleen makes a fire, and helps to make a traditional Australian bread called damper, her brother goes fishing – with a traditional spear. After the picnic, Charleen and her sister wash the pots in the sea, but their grandmother reminds them to be careful - they could be in big danger!
