Houses and Homes

Meet children who live in longhouses, caves, suburban homes, city apartments – and refugee camps. This interactive program helps students understand how geography and culture help to define homes across the world. Students learn that a house can be built anywhere, and out of anything, as long as it provides shelter and protection from the weather. They will better understand how geography can shape the homes we live in. The images and background information also show that a home – whatever the shape or size – should make children everywhere feel safe, secure and protected.
