Conference Presentation
On February 9, 2008 we presented Kids Across the World at the ISSA conference in Chicago,

Our latest Stories!
In February, we completed an in-depth program about refugess, illegal immigrants and IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) - through the eyes of children.

Alaska
- Artist-in-Residency Program
June 2007, Joan-Sara presented a workshop with the Tulukaruk School District in Alaska. Guided by the Photography and Literacy (PAL) program, the Yu'pik students took part of a photo-based project exploring, documenting - and celebrating - their community.

Norway - and beyond!
In May we explored beautiful Norway - crossing the Arctic Circle to visit Saami children in Lappland - at Reindeer Herding School. Reindeer are an integral part of Saami culture and economy - and global warming is now a part of the school curriculum, since it will affect reindeer migration and food supply.

Southeast Asia - Connecting Schools!
In February 2007, we headed off to Southeast Asia with a school donation which helped 7 year-old Mak in Thailand, a tsunami orphan; a school in Myanmar, and a handicapped child in Malaysia. A series of articles - which showed exactly how the donation was spent - ran each Sunday in the Bucks County Courier Times. The articles will soon be up on this site.

KATW Educational programs are now available from this site.

Museum Exhibition - Press Release
Over 150 images from Kids Across the World, including nine photo-stories of individual children, eight themes, and a wall of portraits, plus a video from the Galapagos Isands project, were on exhibit at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology from May 6 - November 26, 2006. Exhibition will travel in 2007.

Learn About J-Sara's trip to the Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are a unique and valuable habitat which must be protected at all cost - but how does this affect the traditional livelihood of the long-established fishing community? With the help of the non-profit agency, Galapagos ICE , J.-Sara explored - and shared - this intriguing situation with schools in America through photo-stories of two children: the son of a fisherman, and the son of a boat captain. Uploading photos and information each evening allowed the two Philadelphia schools to write their own stories - and to forge connections with the two schools in the Galapagos. A pilot TV program was also produced on location. Click here to see the website.

KATW and MAGPI/University of Pennsylvania form a partnership
that now brings Kids Across the World into schools across the world! The 4-part pilot series (Professional Development, Outback Australia, Borneo, School Projects) was first presented as an Interactive Roundtable in the fall of 2005, with another series running in 2006. A special video-conferencing program was presented in conjunction with the Galapagos project. MAGPI is the aggregate point for Internet 2, a high-speed network that connects thousands of schools, universities and cultural institutions around the world.

New countries! New kids! New stories!
Stories from Belize, France, Ecuador and Uganda have been added to the program, and are on display at the Penn Museum exhibition.
